About Evolution Life

Evolution Life a division of OPCO 365 (Pty) Ltd was established in 2005 within the Evolution Group. It began with a brand known as Real People Assurance Company Ltd, and was a registered Long-Term Insurer and provided Credit Protection policies to the Evolution Group for its lending businesses. It then evolved into providing individual risk insurance policies to pre-approved customers that have been exclusively selected for the various products. A further milestone in the Company’s history is that approval was obtained from the Prudential Authority to transfer the insurance business of Real People Assurance Company to Old Mutual Alternative Risk Transfer Limited (OMART) in terms of Section 50 of the Insurance Act. On the 1st of July 2020, Real People South Africa Holdings entered into a Cell Captive arrangement which housed the then Real People Life insurance policies.

Evolution Life is appointed as the Binder Holder to the Cell and continues to administer and manage the policy lifecycle activities. All the products are underwritten by OMART. Evolution Life is situated in East London in the Eastern Cape. All our business is conducted through accredited third-party Call Centres based in Johannesburg, Durban and East London.
